As spring approaches, nature stirs to life; we see it almost shaking itself awake. Join the life stirrings that surround you. For Soul & Solace this month, take a sensory walk, inviting God to nourish you through what you see, hear, smell, feel, and taste. You might take five separate walks, awakening a different sense to God’s presence in each one. You can share your sensory walk experiences on this blog. We’d love to hear from you!

On the Hike & Bike Trail around Town Lake, there is a place that my wife and I refer to as “the Wood Between the Worlds” (thank you C. S. Lewis). As Spring has approached, the various greens are a pleasant site for our eyes (sight), the verdant canopy dampens the sounds around to make it a quiet, restful place where the only loud sounds are the tramping of feet (hearing), and the smells of the growth as the leaves come in is refreshing (smell). I recommend that you visit this spot. It’s near Austin High School. Enjoy.
